How often do ore veins Respawn Skyrim? ›

Ore veins typically respawn every thirty in-game days. A method that can be used to replenish ore veins faster is to enter and exit a nearby location of the source (a nearby cave/house/mine etc.) one week after depleting the ore.

Corundum Ore may be sold by blacksmiths and general goods merchants starting at level 7. Corundum Ingots may be sold by blacksmiths and general goods merchants at all levels.

Corundum can occur as an accessory mineral in metamorphic rocks, derived from aluminous or carbonate sediments such as crystalline limestone and marbles, mica schist's and gneisses. Furthermore, it can be found in the contact zone between igneous rocks and limestone's.

Corundum crystallizes in the hexagonal system, forming pyramidal or rounded barrel shapes. It is widespread in nature, being found in igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks. Large deposits are rare, however. Some of the richest deposits occur in India, Myanmar (Burma), Russia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.

Ore veins generally replenish their ores after about a month (in-game) if the area is marked as "cleared." Otherwise, it replenishes in 10 days. Some veins (e.g. Ebony) respawn sooner, or later than the one month. Each vein, regardless of ore type, will yield three pieces of ore, and at most two precious gems.

Mining is done at ore veins scattered throughout the Skyrim overworld. Each ore vein will yield 1-3 samples of the ore it supplies, and will sometimes also drop gems. Ore veins will resupply after you deplete them, after a month has elasped in the game.

Three east of Lakeview Manor and south of the guardian stones and west of the cave exit/entrance that leads into Helgen, in a small depression near the Shrine of Talos (these may spawn as iron veins instead). The Shrine of Talos is due east of the apiary at Lakeview Manor.

Right next to the carriage, on the side of the driveway. There are 3 corundum ore veins to the east of lakeview and south of Helgen. They are in a small area surrounded by mountainous terrain in 3 directions. I find it easiest to approach from the unmarked cave you exit the tutorial instance from.

There's a smelter on your right, head to the left from that to find the vein on the floor against the wall. Go through the opening to the left into a gas-filled chamber, a corundum vein is in the wall immediately to your right.

When cut, important qualities of corundum for identification are its mineral and fluid inclusions, low dispersion, high density, and two refractive indices (it is dichroic). Sapphires are sometimes confused with spinel, kyanite, benitoite, and tanzanite.
